Food Bank – The AWANA kids are collecting food items for the Chino Valley Food Bank. If you’d like to bring in items, the container is near the tree in the new building. If this isn’t convenient for you, please leave your items in the church foyer and we’ll be sure they get to their destination.
Thanks!
AWANA News
The Awana kids finished out 2009 in mid - December with a fun night of caroling. There were about 40 to 45 kids and parents. We came back to the Fellowship Hall for hot cocoa, cookies and a warm fire.
Sister Nell and I ventured out one night the week of Christmas to visit kids and parents and bring them Christmas bags. I especially remember one of our little Cubbies, Joshua, who opened his bag and his eyes lit up. He reached in and took the angel ornament out and hung it on the family tree. He wanted some of his candy, but mom, Carrie, said it was too close to bedtime.
Praise God we have some new families coming as a result of our great Harvest Festival. We're still enjoying pictures of that event and I am still laughing when I think about that "strange man" who showed up, alias, Kate Donaldson. One of the families coming with four little kids from Paulden said I use to teach them in Sunday School. That makes me feel "old" but more than that it really blesses me.
Some of the things planned for the New Year are:
February 20, Sparkarama/Awana Games
March 27, Bible Quiz for our 3rd - 6th Grades. Both of these events will be at Willow Hills Church in Prescott.
March 15, (Spring Break), Camping, plans are still in the works.
Thank you, Allen Christensen, for your time and efforts on making a new cage for our aluminum cans. please keep bringing us your cans - no cat food or dog food cans please. Just aluminum cans. The money we collect goes to our building fund.
Thank you for all the snacks you parents and others bring to us. The kids really look forward to this. A big thank you to those who have paid for kid's shirts, hand books and dues. We really se the families with several or more children struggling these days.
"I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air". I Cor. 9:26
Together we make the difference, God be with us in this New Year

Awana stands for "Approved Workman Are Not Ashamed" of the Gospel of Christ. It is for ages 3 and 4 years old to the sixth grade. Awana is held every Sunday night from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Bring your children and let them hear and learn the Word of God.
In many circles, “puggle” is a common term for a baby platypus. In children's ministry circles, Awana Puggles is an enriching program for your pre-Cubbies kids (usually older 2- and younger 3-year-olds) that presents basic biblical concepts:
- We are a unique creation of God.
- God loves us very much.
