Pastoral Care Leadership Team

WHAT IS THE "PCLT"

People ask, "What in the world is the PCLT?". Well, the PCLT is an acronym for Pastoral Care Leadership Team. The next question is usually is "Who are they and what do they do?". The PCLT Team is a group of Godly men dedicated to supporting our Pastor and serving the Church Body referred to as Yokefellows.

As our Church Family continues to grow, there are more and more requests for our Pastor to be in several different places at one time. That is where the PCLT (Yokefellows) are able to come along side and share the load. A couple of examples are home and hospital visitation, Lord’s Supper preparation, Baptismal preparation, Benevolence consideration, etc. The most important part of our ministry is PRAYER, for our Pastor and our Church Family.

Most churches use the term "Deacon" for how we serve. We have chosen to use the term "Yokefellow" instead. We have observed that in our society today, the term Deacon has been elevated to a higher position than what is described in 1 Timothy 3:8-16. We feel that the term "Yokefellow" helps to keep us focused on our humble calling to be servants and not administrators (Acts 6:1-6).

The Yokefellows on the PCLT Team are dedicated to their calling of servant with their work in other ministries (ex: Awana, Sunday School Teachers, Outreach, Janitorial, Men’s Ministry, Worship Team, etc.). I am honored to be in service with these men:

Jack Miller

 Tom Sargent

 Dave Clark

Carl Rhoades

Earl Smith

Thurman Main

Bob Perrigo

Bob Kerr

 Lynn Sharp

Jerry Onken

Burt Nelson

Bart Kemp

In the coming months, so you can get to know them better, you will see an article focusing on each PCLT member. In the meantime, please feel free to contact any one of us for more information on the PCLT.

Please remember to pray for our country and our entire church family.

Your Servant,

Roger Burton
